Fatma Al Sowaidi is the Director of Information Technology at the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), where she leads the authority’s digital transformation strategy with a focus on cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.
She is responsible for defining and delivering the IT vision, ensuring alignment with the organization’s regulatory and operational goals. Fatma has led the successful implementation of a cloud-native ecosystem that integrates applications, networks, cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
Under her leadership, the QFCRA became the first government entity in Qatar to operate entirely in the cloud—driving agility, resilience, and automation across the organization.
Fatma also led the development of QFCRA’s AI strategy, introducing intelligent technologies to position the Regulatory Authority as a benchmark for regulatory and operational excellence, with AI as the cornerstone of this strategy.
With 18 years of experience in Information Technology, Fatma is a certified Chief Technology Officer (CTO) by HEC Qatar. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in International Business Information Technology, and a diploma in Internet Application Development. Additionally, she is ITIL Foundation certified.
